The solution

The need

A seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living spaces was needed to expand the home’s footprint while providing the outdoor areas with protection from bugs and the strong Florida sun.

The solution

Phantom’s motorized screens were recessed into the structures – creating outdoor spaces which can be completely protected from the elements or open to the outdoors. All at the touch of a button.

What makes this project special

Thirteen Phantom Screens connect the rear of the home with the outdoors. The addition of these screens creates multiple indoor-outdoor living & entertaining spaces – including an outdoor room with complete climate control thanks to its motorized wall screens with a dual application roller – meaning either vinyl or mesh can be retracted depending on the weather!

The lanai opens to the kitchen, great room, and master suite, creating a spacious living area that is used throughout the year. In order to be able to spend time on the lanai during hot Florida summers, the homeowners needed their design team to find a solution that would protect them from heat and insects while maintaining the view to the outside.

The solution

Motorized screens were installed as as a versatile choice for creating a more comfortable living environment without sacrificing the views to outside. In addition, they block UV rays, thereby maintaining a cooler temperature within the lanai. This allows the homeowners to keep the glass doors between the interior and the lanai open throughout the day, connecting the exterior space with the kitchen, great room and master suite.
