That early experience sparked a lifelong passion for transformation, character-rich homes, vintage pieces with a story, and the small, thoughtful details that make a house a home. That passion eventually led her to renovate her own little fixer-upper – documenting the process and sharing the journey along the way.

About the Project

His Home: Imagine a cottage in the south of France meets a Scandinavian cabin. His Calgary townhouse (a quirky five-level 1970s gem currently being lovingly renovated) is filled with heirloom antiques, natural textures like wood, rattan, cane, and water hyacinth, and many thriving plants.

Need: Christopher’s got this gorgeous house with a back door that opens to a fenced garden, perfect for summer hangouts. This door is right in his kitchen, where he films most of his recipe videos. So, when he’s cooking, he loves having the door open to let in fresh air, but he definitely doesn’t want any bugs coming inside. That’s why he needs a retractable screen.

Solution: This is where Suite Outdoors stepped in. The consultation was super easy, and they showed him how they could perfectly color-match his doors. Once he ordered his custom screens, installation day came quickly. He loved how they seamlessly blended with the door, and he quickly decided to add one to the front door to keep an eye on package deliveries and soak up the afternoon sun. Meet Evan

Inspired by everyday life—that’s been Evan Cabell’s motto for years! He’s been passionate about interior design and decorating for as long as he can remember. Initially inspired by his mom’s minimal yet inviting style, Evan eventually developed his own unique blend of Japandi and minimalism. Fast forward to 2025, and he’s now embracing color and maximalism!
By day, he’s an IT Engineer; by night, an interior designer. People are always surprised when he mentions his growing presence on social media in the interior design world. It’s one of those “wait, what?” moments until they see it for themselves! It’s been an incredible journey learning the ropes of social media and sharing his home and style with the world. Simple Nature Decor is a place to share her decor style of nature-inspired and simple yet classic design ideas. What started as a simple way to de-stress was a daily nature walk with her dog. It developed into much more.
